Sled Hockey USA vs Canada comes to Buffalo USA VS Canada coming to Buffalo February 23, 24, 25, 2012 Games will be played at the Northtown Center in the newly fitted sled accessible Porsche Olympic Rink located at 1615 Amherst Manor Drive Williamsville New York. The game schedule will be as follows: Thursday February 23rd 6 PM, Friday February 24th 8PM, Saturday February 25th 7 PM
Coaching Education update - As of 1/9/12; 5,016 coaches are registered in NY. 4,204 have completed modules. 777 coaches are in the process of completing their module (they have started). 4,981 coaches will have completed if all 777 complete the modules in progress by the end of January.
This is good news, however it still leaves 35 coaches who have not started a module. Please continue to get the word out so that every coach has the opportunity to complete this step of their certification.
USA Hockey and Hockey Canada have put into writing the policy for playing across the border. To see the agreement follow this link. >>> Link Awards presented at the 2011 Annual Meeting; Todd Smith was presented the USAH New Young Leader Award. Kurt Kemp received the Tom Korpolinski award and Gary Lebrun was chosen for the Peter Rush Award. In addition NYSAHA has created a new award to honor Sandy Irwin. LeeAnne and Brian Irwin accepted the award on behalf of their family. The Sandy Irwin Award will be given each year to recognize and outstanding volunteer in our programs. The four Bob Allen Scholarship winners were announced at the meeting. Taylor Burgio, Nicholas Guay, Robert Neff and Ciara VanCour will receive the scholarships for 2011. congratulations!
