JV Huskies work hard to beat Highland Park 6 to 5

This was an intense, high penalty, hard hitting game only to be won in last 3 seconds - coming from behind at one point 5 to 2!   HP came out strong with 2 goals in 1st period - one a breakaway in first 30 seconds!  We tied it up in first 4 minutes of 2nd quarter - Jake Novak and Braden Klaisle with an assist from Nick Cizek.  HP had a real gift in holding - only to be called on it 3 times.   They got us on a 3rd goal end of 2nd - 3 to 2 to start 3rd period.  And things got uglier….with 8:48 left in the 3rd - score as 5 to 2 HG.  That woke us up.   Clock at 7:33 - Cody Mersman slams one it with assist from Sean McDonnell.

32 seconds later - score! - by Sean McDonnell!  HG then switches out goalies with 6:55 left in the game (sure he wasn't thrilled about being thrown in last 7 minutes!) Doesn't matter - we tie the game with 4:38 left with a key goal from Zack Abrams assisted by Cody Mersman.  2:56 left and we've got 3 on ice to their 5!  Strong defense prevented the game from slipping away at that point.  3 SECONDS LEFT - Nick Solak with the game with a great assist from the blue line by Mark Schliksbier!
