JV Huskies give Waubonsie a scary Halloween - 7 to 1!

It was 8 minutes into the game before first blood was drawn by Nick Cizek with assists from Cody Mersman and Zach Abrams.  That was the beginning of Friday the 13th for Waubonsie…. Joe Gollinger ended 1st period with our 2nd goal with an assist from James Maynard.  2nd period was worst nightmare for our opponents with 2 goals within first 2 minutes - scored by Sean McDonnell and Nick Cizek (again!) with an awesome assist from Cody Mersman (again!) and this after taking a hard hit from behind end of 1st that sent W to the bench.  At this point Waubonsie switched goalies (boo!) but to no avail.  We let them have 1 in the last 8 seconds of 2nd period.  The game ended with 2 more goals in 3rd by Nick Solak, assisted by Jake Novak, and Mark Schliksbier assisted by Griffin Haugen and Lukas Maheras.  Strong defense throughout the game resulted in Waubonsie only getting off 12 shots, to our 28.  Great passing game as well!
