History of the Cheetahs

On October 7, 2006 Montgomery Special Hockey took the ice.  Smiles were abundant as players, coaches and mentors skated for the first time in their inaugural season.  Montgomery Special Hockey is run in conjuction with  Montgomery Youth Hockey Association (MYHA), and is a member of American Special Hockey Association (ASHA). One of 20 organization nationally which provide Ice Hockey to children and adults with developmental disabilities.

In their first full season, the team voted to call them selves the Cheetahs.  They voted on a mascot and got their own jerseys. The Cheetahs played in the  2007 Special Hockey International Tournament held in Arlington, Virginia.  A great time was had by all.
