LEARN TO SKATE/LEARN TO PLAY ICE HOCKEY!  USA Hockey Skill Development Program


Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Ice Hockey! 
The USA Hockey Skill Development Program is designed to teach ice skating skills and then basic hockey skills for the beginning youth hockey player.  

Sessions begin OCTOBER, JANUARY and APRIL of each year

While Ice Hockey requires skill, the proper instruction and attitude make the game fun and rewarding.

The Skill Development Program incorporates the most current and innovative ideas available today.  It represents the best methods of starting players on the right path to an enjoyable experience in your sport.

The Skill Development program lesson plans have been tested and have proven successful in every type of community setting.

The established program objectives are:
*To develop understanding of basic teamwork through participation in a variety of activities and adapted game situations
*To have FUN while playing hockey and engaging in physical activity
*To create and refine basic motor skills
*To be introduced to the concepts of cooperation and fair play 

The Skill Development Program is based on 20 skates-2 times per week-typically early Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. 

The cost is $120.00 plus the cost of $35 for USA Hockey Membership.  USA Hockey Membership -No Charge for players 6 and under 

Players are divided into groups according to their skill level at the time of registration and then progress through defined skills for ice skating and then for hockey skills. 

Players are required to wear full ice hockey equipment.  Ice Hockey equipment is provided to your player at NO EXTRA CHARGE while they are a member of the Midland Amateur Hockey League.
