To our hockey community:
I would like to take this opportunity to ask our membership, both past and present, for the most wonderful trait hockey families have to offer, our thoughts, prayers and generosity. In good times and when hope is needed, these three traits always appear first and foremost to the other families in our great sport.
Over the weekend, I spoke with a very dear friend of all of ours, Rick Dodd. He informed me of a medical condition that he has just learned he has. Rather than speculate, I'll only say that he is currently undergoing tests to determine the best course of treatment.
Rick is a former TBL coach, board member and most recently coach of the Lady Lightning team last season for TBL. Rick's character and approach to teaching and mentoring kids through the years has earned him a level of appreciation that in most minds goes unparalleled. He has always given so much of his time and effort to putting a personal feel into coaching and making kids better people for the lives they will lead. For this we are the fortunate ones, thank you Rick.
Please keep the Dodd family in your thoughts and pray for a recovery for our friend.
In speaking with his wife Mimi, a CaringBridge site has been setup to keep friends and family informed of Rick's progress and also allows everyone to send well-wishes to Rick and his family. The website address is http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/rickdodd.
Thank you.
Very truly yours,
Pat Culiberk
