Off-Ice Stretches and Exercises

In preparation for the season ahead, Coach Drew, the Jets' off-ice instructor (for strength, conditioning and nutrition), has prepared the presentations to identify specific stretches and upper and lower body exercises you can do to increase flexibility, strength and, most importantly, keep you healthy all season long.  These exercises/movements require no equipment and can be done in the convenience of your home; both parent(s) and players are encouraged to participate.

Drew Stevenson, Principal of Develop The Athlete (DTA), is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a certified personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE).  Founded in 2007, DTA and its certified professional trainers work with athletes of all ages and all sports developing safe and fundamentally sound training programs along with focusing on sound nutritional habits to maintain good health on and off the field of play. DTA’s current list of clients include the Chicago Machine (Major League Lacrosse), Saint Ignatius College Prep hockey, Saint Ignatius College Prep lacrosse and the Chicago Jet’s Hockey Club. Stevenson is currently Head Coach of Boys Lacrosse at Saint Ignatius College Prep.
