Glacier League Scoring Rules 2008-09

Game Scoring and Standings

Each team will play two games, one home and one away, against every other team within the skill division of their age level.

All games must be scheduled and completed between the start date and end date as specified at the Fall League Meeting.

Each league game will be worth six (6) total points in the league standings. The winning team will earn four (4) points and the losing team will earn zero (0) points. Two (2) additional points will be awarded based on Fair Play. One (1) Point will be awarded for fewest Penalty Minutes and One (1) Point will be awarded for the fewest Infractions committed.  In the case that one area is tied the other will serve as the tie-breaker so two points are awarded.  In the event that both areas are tied the points will be split.

In the case of a forfeit the forfeiting team will receive zero (0) points and the other team will receive all six (6) points.

Scheduled games that are not played will result in zero (0) points for both teams and should be reported by the home team as a mutually agreed forfeit by both teams.

The Association for the home team is responsible to report the game score and all points as detailed in the Procedures section. Any games not reported will be scored as six (6) points for the visiting team in the standings as of two weeks after the scheduled game date. In the case that the home team does not track and report the fair play points they will be automatically awarded to the visiting team.

Point standings will be final and the league champions named on the first Sunday one week after the season end date as stated at the Fall League Meeting.

Game scores, results and points will be posted on the League web site; however, game points will determine a team's place in the standings.
