 Parking Lot Renovations Progress Quickly! Click here for updates and photos of this exciting project. The Franklin Park Ice Arena is about to embark on an exciting change. Our aging parking lot is being completely refurbished with a Unilock permeable paving system. This eco-friendly product allows rain water to seep into the ground rather than adding to the already over saturated sewer system, similar to they way Mother Nature filters water into the earth. It has a longer life span than a normal asphalt parking lot and is more esthetically pleasing. In addition to the lot, permeable pavers will replace the current concrete entranceway. During this project our parking lot will be closed for regular use starting September 14. We have worked with local villages and businesses to provide supplemental parking for your convenience. The parking lot/front entranceway project is really starting to take shape. The foundation for the parking lot was put in place last week and pavers are being laid this week and next. The machine that is used to place the pavers is able to pick up an entire block at once. This will help move the installation along quickly. Once the pavers have been completely installed, sections will be cut so a different colored brick can be laid to distinguish each parking space. Thank you for your cooperation during this project.
