You Can Bring Miracles to Life
Your gift will sponsor a Miracle by funding one of the following six initiatives: Participation/Growth of the Game USA Hockey's youth programs provide a grassroots foundation for the growth and development of hockey with programs aimed at increased participation, improved skills and a responsible environment for the conduct of youth hockey. Making the game more affordable, getting more kids of both genders to try the game, and getting those who try it to continue playing are crucial to our success. International & Player Development USA Hockey's Player Development Programs select and train the most competitive men's and women's ice hockey teams to represent the United States at the Olympic, National, National Junior and Select levels of international competition. Your support will enable Team USA to be even more successful as we strive to win medals, especially gold, in these competitions. Opportunity: Disabled & Disadvantaged Athletes Everyone should have an opportunity to play hockey, regardless of physical or financial limitations. The USA Hockey Foundation supports all four disciplines of disabled hockey, including standing amputee hockey, sled hockey, deaf and hard of hearing hockey and special hockey. The Foundation also supports the NHL/USA Hockey Diversity Task Force, a nonprofit program designed to introduce children of diverse ethnic backgrounds to the game of hockey. Education
USA Hockey provides education for coaches, officials, parents, and athletes. Structured national education programs for coaches and officials insure excellence and consistency throughout amateur hockey for these important positions. Your gift can help USA Hockey provide these programs locally across the country as well as online through a virtual resource center. Safety USA Hockey and the Foundation support safety and protective equipment research and education to make the game as safe as possible for all participants. Specific initiatives include the "Heads Up" education program, concussion prevention education, CPR training at Summer Festival Camps, and the installation of defibrillators (AEDs) in rinks across the country. Commemoration The USA Hockey Foundation oversees several programs, awards and funds that are commemorative in nature. These include the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, the Lester Patrick Award, the Dave Peterson Memorial Fund and Coaches Symposium, and the Brian Fishman Intern and Memorial Fund. These programs honor the best and brightest in the hockey community.
