Team Expectations Once you join our team you are strongly encouraged to participate in all practices, games, and tournaments. When participating your coaches and teammates will expect full effort to be made during all activities. Prior to games and tournaments an email is sent out to fill the roster. Once you commit to a game or tournament you will be obligated for any fees that may come with that. If for some reason you are unable to make a game or tournament you will still be obligated to pay unless a replacement can be found. As a member of Everett Women’s Ice Hockey you are expected to conduct yourself in an appropriate manner on and off the ice. You must sign a Code of Conduct agreeing to do so. If you break the agreement action may be taken against you not limited to but as severe as team expulsion without refund. Cost Information Our team’s fees are setup as follows. Everyone pays team dues. Dues cover any administrative costs we might incur and practices. Games and tournaments that occur beyond the regularly scheduled practice time are paid for by those on the roster. The cost of annual dues fluctuates depending on the amount of players we have and cost of ice. The fee this year (2007-08) is $300 for the September to March season. However, the cost is pro-rated for new members that join after the season has started. Because the cost is based on several factors a no refund policy is our standard practice. Special circumstances are reviewed by the Board. The cost of games not played during our regular practice time is $15. A standard rate of $30 has been set for tournaments. Another cost the first year you join is uniforms. If you plan on playing in games and tournaments you are expected to get jerseys and socks. To begin the ordering process please notify Player Representative, Sami, via email of your interest. You are not expected to have a jersey by your first game as the ordering process can take some time. The average cost for both the light and dark jersey and socks is $175. Safety Issues If you suffer an injury on or off the ice it is recommended that you inform the current player representative, Sami Todoroff, as soon as possible in written form. For on ice injuries incurred during Raven’s functions you need to immediately inform the player representative or other Board member in her absence. A decision can then be made as to whether or not an incident report should be filed with USA Hockey to file for the USA Hockey secondary insurance coverage. After any injury requiring a doctor’s visit you must bring in a clearance note to participate. Game Rosters Most our team communication is done via email. This is also the case for signing up for game rosters. This year Jolene Steen is both the designated game scheduler and roster coordinator. When an upcoming game is established, Jolene sends an email to the team seeking players who wish to play. Generally the first 15 skaters to reply are added to the roster for an event. But games scheduled on our regular practice night have a slightly different roster format explained below. Once a player official joins the team she is placed on one of two teams: A or B. The two teams alternate playing games scheduled on the regular practice night. At the point a game is scheduled a roster is sent out to the appropriate team; let’s say team A, for confirmation that the member’s will be at the game. The remaining spots (because currently each team does not have 15 players) plus any spots that team A does not fill than come open to a lottery system. Members of team B can add their name to the lottery list of interested players. Once the number of needed players is determined, names from the lottery list are drawn out of a hat to finish the roster Every full paying member is invited to sign up for rosters unless the roster posting notes otherwise. New players should remember that game play is a great way to learn the game and we were all new once! Our Tournament Our organization is proud to organize the Everett Ravens Women’s Ice Hockey Tournament. We have successfully held the tournament three years and are excited for our 4th Annual tournament. All members of the team are expected to help run the tournament. Our tournament will be held March 28-30th this year. 2007-08 Board Members and Contact Information President Carolyn Prentice Vice President Heather Anderson Secretary Steph Lineberry Treasurer Jolene Steen Player Rep Sami Todoroff** todoroff11@yahoo.com ** Your main contact |
