Help Needed
This is a plea for your help.  The Arkansas Hockey Association is a volunteer organization, and without volunteers, the organization (and local hockey) suffers.  Every year we must beg for people to donate their time to make everything work, and, unfortunately, very few people participate.

Currently, here's a list of volunteers that we need:
One mite representative
Two bantam representatives
Officers (which can also be reps, except for the President), including President, Vice President, and Secretary.
One registrar
One webmaster

If you don't know what these positions are responsible for, here's a brief rundown:
Representatives:  meet once a month for about an hour, discussing issues that the organization is facing, and solving any problems with those issues.
President:  presides over the meeting, sets the agenda, ensures that everything is addressed.
Vice President:  assists the president and presides over any meeting in which the president is absent.
Secretary:  attends the meetings and takes minutes, types the minutes and submits for review, maintains the email and contact database of the members and players, writes a monthly newsletter.
Webmaster:  keeps the website updated with any new information, including copies of minutes and newsletters.
Registrar:  mainly busy around the beginning of the season, when players are being registered; ensures that all players are registered appropriately.
More detailed information may be found at www.arkansashockey.org in the bylaws.

The new board members' first meeting is at the end of May, which is when officers will be elected.

So don't just complain about the way things are going (or not going)!  This is your opportunity to speak out and to have a say in what is going on with youth and adult hockey!  Your kids love hockey, or they wouldn't be playing it.  Your efforts will ensure that hockey is still around for your kids to enjoy.

Please volunteer.  It generally doesn't take that much time out of your schedule--maybe a couple hours a month.

If you are interested in volunteering, simply email me and we'll help you get started.

On behalf of the current Board,
Thank you,
Simone
