This is a plea for your help. The Arkansas Hockey Association is a volunteer organization, and without volunteers, the organization (and local hockey) suffers. Every year we must beg for people to donate their time to make everything work, and, unfortunately, very few people participate.
Currently, here's a list of volunteers that we need:
One mite representative
One bantam representative
One fundraising director
If you don't know what these positions are responsible for, here's a brief rundown:
Representatives: meet once a month for about an hour, discussing issues that the organization is facing, and solving any problems with those issues.
Fundraising Director: coordinate fund raising efforts to reduce the overall cost of playing hockey for all of our members
Don't just complain about the way things are going (or not going)! This is your opportunity to speak out and to have a say in what is going on with youth and adult hockey! Your kids love hockey, or they wouldn't be playing it. Your efforts will ensure that hockey is still around for your kids to enjoy.
Please volunteer. It generally doesn't take that much time out of your schedule--maybe a couple hours a month.
