In the Los Angeles Hockey Club’s 4-3 victory, Michael McNicholas scored his teams’ last three goals to help them advance to the national tournament this week in Hackensack, N.J. And in doing so, he broke the hearts of his friends on the Outlaws – friends that were teammates just two years ago.
Michael McNicholas notched a hat trick with two goals in the first period and another in the second, helping the Los Angeles Hockey Club to a 4-3 win over the Las Vegas Outlawas in the championship game of the Pacific District 14-Under Tier II tournament championship game.
Quinn Luckenbill stopped all 25 third-period shots he faced and saved 60 out of 61 overall to lead the Ice Dogs from Hatfield Ice in Colmar, Pa., in to the USA Hockey 14-Under Tier II National Championships with a two-game sweep of the Red Bank Generals.
