The state of Minnesota was well represented in the women’s division of USA Hockey's Senior National Championships.
 
The Minnesota Blue J’s and Minnesota J’Hawks battled for bragging rights in the national final of the Women’s Senior A division, with the Blue J’s coming off a grueling, 1-0 victory in their semifinal game over Assabet Valley of Massachusetts, and looked worn out. The J’Hawks took advantage and skated to an 8-2 win and the national crown.
