In a tournament as evenly contested as this week’s Tier II 16 & Under National Championships, Sunday’s nail biter of a championship game came as no surprise. In fact, the Green Mountain Glades edging past the Darien Huskies on a heart-stopping breakaway goal with less than 40 seconds left in the game just seemed to fit with the whole theme of the week. The 4-3 final score lifted the Glades over the Huskies and earned them the Tier II 16 & Under crown in front of a packed house in Richmond, Va.
