In the end, Long Beach had better legs. The Long Beach (Calif.) Junior Ice Dogs topped the host Ellenton Eels in the Tier II 16-Under division of 2004 USA Hockey's National Championships on Sunday. It was the Ice Dogs’ fifth win in six games over a grueling five-day stretch. Ellenton had the same task, but by the final game, it was clear that the Ice Dogs had more gas left in the tank.
