COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Twenty players who participated at USA Hockey's Boys' Select 16 Player Development Camp have been selected for the 2009 U.S. Under-17 Select Team that will compete at the 2009 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament from Aug. 18-22, in Fussen, Germany.

The Boys' Select 16 Player Development Camp took place from June 26-July 2, at the ESL Sports Centre in Rochester, N.Y.

The U.S. roster features 12 forwards, including Cason Hohmann (Plymouth, Mich.), who led all players at the Boys' Select 16 Player Development Camp with nine points (1-8), and Ben Bahe (Stillwater, Minn./4-4--8) and Christian Horn (Plymouth, Minn./6-2--8), who both finished with eight points.

Anchoring the six-man defensive corps for Team USA will be Dan Molenaar (Eden Prairie, Minn.), who led all defensemen at the Player Development Camp with eight points (7-1), and Garrett Haar (Huntington Beach, Calif.), who finished among the top 25 in scoring with five points (3-2).

Sharing the goaltending duties at the 2009 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament will be Brendan Jensen (El Granada, Calif.) and Jay Williams (McLean, Va.). Jensen finished the Boys' Select 16 Player Development Camp with a .933 save percentage and a 2.00 goals-against average, while Williams compiled a .932 save percentage and a 2.33 goals-against average.

NOTES: The 2009 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament will include teams from the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Switzerland and the United States ... Darren Turcotte will serve as head coach and Rick Bennett as assistant coach for the 2009 U.S. Under-17 Select Team ... Turcotte served as the assistant coach for the 2004 U.S. Under-18 Select Team and was the head coach for Team USA at the International Ice Hockey Federation InLine World Championships three consecutive years (2006-08) ... Bennett has been the associate head coach at Union College for the past two seasons and was the head coach of the 2006 U.S. Under-17 Select Team ... Turcotte and Bennett are both Level 4 USA Hockey certified coaches ... The 20 players on the U.S. roster represent 11 states ... The annual USA Hockey Select 16 Player Development Camp provides top young players with concentrated on- and off-ice training and instruction as well as the opportunity to compete at a national level against other players from their age group.
