National Championships Come to a Close

2007 USA Hockey National Championships Come to a Close
Twelve Labatt Blue USAdult National Champions Crowned;
Total of 32 Titles Awarded Over 60-Day Span

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four champions were crowned last week (May 17-20) at the Labatt Blue USAdult Recreational National Championship in Las Vegas, Nev. The event marked the conclusion of the 2007 USA Hockey National Championships, which included 32 team titles at the youth, girls’, women’s, junior and adult levels.

The Las Vegas Ice Center and the Sobe Arena at Fiesta Rancho hosted National Championships in four divisions this past weekend. Las Vegas claimed the Rec I championship, while TBD (Mich.) earned the Rec III title. The Chicago American Eagles were crowned champions of the Novice I division and the Buccaneers (Minn.) won the Novice II title.

In other recent adult action, the Elite Non-Checking championships were held in Lansing, Mich., April 19-22. PASI (Mich.) topped Cariera’s (Mich.), 6-2, in the Tier I finale, while Valeri (Mich.) claimed the Tier II title with a 5-2 victory over Douglas J (Mich.).

At the 30 & Over Non-Checking championship, held in Phoenix, Ariz., April 19-22, the Phoenix Sr. Coyotes knocked off the McCall Mountaineers (Idaho), 3-2, to claim the division title.

The 40 & Over Non-Checking National Championship was held in Naples, Fla., April 12-15, where the North Carolina Eagles claimed the title.

Finally, the 50 & Over and 60 & Over Non-Checking National Championships were held  in Brandon, Fla., April 12-15. T’s Pub (Mass.) earned the 50 & Over USA division title, Team IMS (Fla.) won the 50 & Over Blue title and Sons of Beach (Fla.) claimed the 50 & Over Light division crown. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Old Timers earned the inaugural 60 & Over division championship.
