After essentially cruising through the early rounds -- and even the semifinal round -- of USA Hockey's Tier II 18 & Under National Championship in Springfield, Mo., the South Boston Shamrocks knew they were going to have their hands full with the Mid-Fairfield Blues in Sunday’s final. Indeed, they did, with the Blues playing the Shamrocks tough in a game that was much closer than the final score -- South Boston 5, Mid-Fairfield 2 -- might suggest.
