The eight teams in the championship will be split into two groups:
Group A: United States, Czech Republic, Finland, Japan
Group B: Canada, Sweden, Germany, Russia
Each team will play three games against opponents within their group. Following round-robin competition, the top team in each group receives a bye to the semifinal round; teams ranked No. 2 and 3 advance to the quarterfinal round; and the two fourth-place teams face off in relegation play. |
