• Member Number

USA Hockey members will have one of two types of "numbers".

USA Hockey does not issue permanent member numbers. However, each participant has a current season registration number…their confirmation number created during Online Registration.  It’s easy to get a reprint of an online registration confirmation page – go to www.usahockey.com, click Register Online and then on the button that says ‘Request an Additional Confirmation Page’.  Players and coaches will receive an email when their registration is processed through an association’s software. This email will include their current season registration number and can be used as proof of current registration. Member cards are no longer mailed.

    Member Types

There are six (6) member types used by Cyber Sport to process members: Player, Player Youth, Coach, Coach/Player, Manager and Volunteer.

The Player (P) member type is used for any youth or adult member in your association who will be playing ice hockey.

A player 6 years old and younger will automatically be assigned as Player Youth (PY) member type. The Cyber Sport software determines this category based on the date of birth field when the player’s online registration is processed through the software as a Player (P) member type.

The Coach (C) member type is used for any person registering as a coach in your association.

If you are registering an individual who is both a coach AND a player within your association, select the Coach/Player (CP) member type. This member type should only be used by an association that forms both adult and youth teams.

The Manager (M) member type is used for registering a person who is not playing or coaching but needs to be on an Official Team Roster. A manager acts as the custodian for team documents and administer other non coaching functions.  There is no registration fee charged for a manager. Mangers will not be transmitted to USA Hockey. Managers do not register online; you must manually enter the manager’s information into your Cyber Sport database.

The Volunteer (V) member type has been provided as a means to track individuals in your database who are not registered members of USA Hockey. The Volunteer box is exclusive of all other member type boxes and should only be used if you have someone you want to include in your mailing labels or for general information tracking purposes that you do not wish to register with USA Hockey. Volunteers do not register online; you must manually enter the volunteer’s information into your Cyber Sport database.
