Glacier League – 2008 End of Season Meeting                      3/26/2008

Agenda:

• Final Standings – Review of each Division
  • Final scores and results approved and final results approved for publishing on Website.

• Survey – Review results for discussion during later topics
  • Survey results reviewed and suggestions and changes noted for approval prior to start of next season. 

• Traveling Trophy – Sample, costs & options
  • League has not raised enough money through fees to purchase 14 traveling trophies.  Trophies will be purchased after league fees for the 2008-09 season have been established and collected provided sufficient funds are raised.  Trophies will be a 13-1/2” Cup with 5-1/2” solid wood base.

• League Scoring System – Changes?
  • The  league scoring system will be changed to 4 Points for a Win, 0 Points for a Loss and 2 Points to each team for a Tie.  Due to strong support for the Fair Play Point, 2 Points will be awarded for Fair Play with the points splitting for a tie.  Additional rules will be written on the Fair Play Point System.

• Divisions – Number of Divisions and Teams in each
  • The number of Divisions seems correct but we need to increase the number of Teams in many divisions and add separate divisions for Girls if necessary.  Changing the league fee structure will allow the recruitment of specific teams without the need for an entire Association to join.

• Website – Discontinue with e-teamz and move to no cost USA Hockey site
  • The Glacier League will discontinue it’s e-Teamz site and move to the USA Hockey Website which is a No Cost option for the league.

• Budget – Fees by Team structure vs. by Association
  • For the 2007-08 season fees were collected per Association with each one paying the same amount.  For the 2008-09 season fees will be per Team entered rather than by Association pending the approval by Member Associations.  This change will allow the league to recruit additional teams as needed to fill each division.  The Team fee is estimated to be between $20 and $30 for next season.

• Other Topics
  • Preseason and End of Season Tournaments were discussed.  End of season tournaments cause too many conflicts with playdowns and WAHA State tournaments.

                    League By-Laws need to be established.  Need volunteers to tackle this project.
