Illness and Flu Policy

Bloomington Girls Hockey Program
01 October 2009

Bloomington Girls Hockey program has reviewed and agrees with the Bloomington Public School policy for symptoms of the flu.  Any player that exhibits the following symptoms should be kept home:  Fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater, with cough and/or sore throat.

Sick children should stay home for at least 24 hours after their fever is gone without the use of fever-reducing drugs.  Usually, this means staying home for 5 to 7 days.  Children staying home with flu like symptoms should also avoid contact with others except to get medical care.

Bloomington Girls Hockey players must continue to have their own clearly marked water bottles at tryouts, games and practices.   All new players will receive a water bottle with our logo.  If you are interested in purchasing another water bottle, we will have them for sale at tryouts and the parent meeting.

Thank you.

Girls Hockey Day in Bloomington

Saturday, January 9, is Girls Youth Hockey Appreciation Day. This will be the second head-to-head meeting of Jefferson and Kennedy. Prior to the game ALL players of Bloomington Girls hockey will be introduced and will be on the ice for the National Anthem.

During the first intermission the 6U and 8U girls will play an exhibition game for approximately 6 min.

There is a need for 3-4 volunteers to run this event and work from 6-9 pm. Some of the tasks are: coordinate with the high schools, pass out tickets to each team prior to the event, announce all the players, line up all the players and teams, hand out vouchers for the concession stand, and to control general chaos. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend the November and December Advisory Board meetings.
