Flint Blades' coach, Don "Doc" Edwards, and some of his players ran the IMA Sabres Bantam B team #2 through the paces of a Blades practice, and introduced the Sabres to some new and inventive team drills in preparation for future ice battles. Included was a brisk warm-up followed by station training, a breakout turned into a 3 on 2 drill, and several small area games. Both the Blades and Sabres players skated side-by-side as one and quickly became friends, as the Blades players provided valuable how-to tips to the Sabres players on the drills and games. The Sabres players, coaches, and program extend a "thank you" to the Blades players and Coach "Doc," for providing assistance to our Sabres players and for helping make our program the best in the state. The Blades coaches and players have stepped forward, volunteering to give of themselves to help make us all stronger.

The Flint Blades, 2005 MAHA Bantam "AA" District 5 Champions, gave a hockey clinic to the Flint IMA Sabre Mighty Mites over two weekends during March. The Blades, busy preparing for the 2005 MAHA State playoffs, found the time to teach a group of future hockey stars the fundamentals of the game. The Mighty Mites and their parents were taken by surprise and very appreciative of the instruction and attention the Blades gave to the kids. To maximize the clinic experience, the ice was divided up into several training stations manned by the Blades in which the kids were given one-on-one instruction and sometimes even one-on-two instruction at each station. The kids were rotated every 5 minutes to make sure they were given the opportunity to get a learning experience from every training station. The clinic concluded with a scrimmage featuring both the Blades and mites playing together and ended with all the players meeting at center ice for a traditional "post-game" handshake. Everyone was then treated to "post-game" refreshments provided by the Blades. The Mighty Mites say, "thank you Blades, players and coaches, for giving your time to us to help make us be the best we can be, and most of all for taking the time to make a difference with us."
