USA Hockey America's High School Showcase (formerly called Chicago Showcase)

Formerly called the Chicago Showcase and renamed this year to USA Hockey America’s High School Showcase will be conducted April 14-18, 2010 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It will be hosted by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL).  Twenty-four boys' teams from across the United States representing forty-three States will compete and showcase their talents to scouts from every major hockey institution in the country.

The purpose of this prestigious event remains the same.  It is designed to allow high school hockey players from around the country who do not traditionally get scouted due to geographic and budgetary constraints within the scouting circles the opportunity to compete against the best of the best during a five day period and be seen by every major hockey institution in North America.  PNAHA is proud to support Team Washington participation in this event. The 2010 USA Hockey America's High School Showcase will be April 13-18, 2010.  Tryouts for this event will be February 6-7, 2010 in Renton.

According to Jim Smith, past Chicago Showcase Director, “By allowing more areas to host this prestigious event, it promises to be second to none. I am quite confident the volunteers and organizing committee in Pittsburgh will not only maintain the high standards of this event, but will bring it to even greater heights. I am sure they will want to keep this event in Pittsburgh for many years to come.”

Chicago Showcase 2007 Participation Results

The B Pool has (2) divisions.  We have typically been in the other division, but this year they put us in with the better B Pool Teams.  The tougher competition was obvious.

1st Game
Connecticut - Lost 0-3

2nd Game
Massachusetts - Lost 1-6

3rd Game
New York - Lost 1-5

4th Game
Colorado - Won 4-3

Other Playoff Games in Our Division
Every team in our division won their cross-over games.  Minnesota was undefeated in the A pool and New York beat them.  North Dakota is another A pool team and Massachusetts beat them.  Looks like our division had some pretty good teams in it.  New York lost to Pittsburg 5-4 in the semi's and Pittsburg won the Showcase.
