Varsity Coaching Staff

Brian Noonan - Head Coach

A 16-year NHL veteran, Coach Noonan assumed the NNHHC Head Coach position for the 2005/2006 year after serving as an Assistant Coach in 04/05. Brians distinguished playing career includes winning the 1994 Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers and scoring 3 game winning playoff goals. He also played for the Chicago Blackhawks from 1987-1994 where he set a team record for most consecutive goals (7) in 1991. Brian brings several years of coaching experience with him, as well as knowledge of the game attainable only by his playing experience.

 

Rick Chimniak - Assistant Coach
 
Rick grew up playing hockey in Southern Ontario Canada where he played for the Burlington and Grimsby AA programs.  He coached for the Burlingtion Junior B and more recently, he coached for the Huskies, Sabres and Waubonsie High School program.  Rick is very passionate about hockey and has a positive, motivated attitude and goal oriented approach to the game which have contributed to his past successes in coaching.

 

JV Coaching Staff

Ryan Buchanan – Head Coach
Ryan joined the NNHHC bench for the 2005/2006 season.  A two-time Chicago Showcase player, Ryan has coached hockey since 1997 at both club and high school levels.   Ryan, who is also a level 3 hockey official, has served as an instructor for power skating in addition to his other hockey coaching duties.  Ryan led our 2005/2006 JV team  to Tournament Champions in the Montini Invitational Tournament, to Finalists in a Big Bear Tournament in Ann Arbor, and advanced the JV team to the All Metro Playoff Round in the Metropolitan High School League for the first time in 6 years for the club.

 

Bill Johnson – Assistant Coach
Bill joined the NNHHC bench for the 2007/2008 season as a co-coach.  A Naperville North hockey alumnus, Bill was selected for the Metro West All Star team and Illinois All State team in 2002.  Bill went on to coach the Huskies JV team in both an assistant and head coach capacity from 2002 to 2004.  He went on to Head Coach the Waubonsie Valley JV team during the 2004/2005 season.  Bill also filled the Varsity Head Coach position for Waubonsie during the 2006/2007 season after holding the assistant coach position the prior season.  Bill is excited to back with the Huskie organization.
