The Twin Bridges Board recognizes the economic times are difficult for everyone and we are working hard to keep our fees at some of the lowest rates in Missouri Hockey.
Unfortunately, our Bingo program at the KC Hall in Granite City on Monday nights has also been hit with some difficult times and poor attendance due to the economy, a smoking ban and other factors. In the past, this was our largest fund raiser which helped keep our fees low, fund programs like LTP and numerous other opportunities for the kids in our organization. The limited financial contributions of Bingo and the rising cost of energy/ice cost forced us to increase our fees this season.
To combat these issues and increases in the future, the board has formed a fundraising committee that is focusing on raising money for the organization as a whole. We have also stepped up our advertising efforts for Bingo and will be looking for more help from all of the members through the reformed volunteer program this year. All of these efforts should help keep ice fees down and hopefully help bring the organization together as a whole instead of individuals.
The fundraising committee has proposed several ideas below that you may be seeing and asked to participate in throughout the year. They are:
- Season Kick Off Raffle to win $500 value towards 2008/2009 ice fees. Raffle available at summer ice and registration times. Drawing to be held August 31, 2008.
- E - Script Schnucks Card available at evaluations. Cash back to the organization each time a family uses the card at Schnucks. We get a kick off 10% cash back for the month August, so use yours as soon as you can!
- Twin Bridges Season Kick-off Mouse Race. To be held Aug 23rd. Watch the web for more details!
- Holiday Raffle with prize drawings in December. Each player will be responsible to sell a minimum of $50 worth of chances in November.
- Golf Tournament and Annual Meeting. To end the season with a golf outing and the annual meeting.
These are just a few of the programs. Please look for more details and other fundraising opportunities throughout the year. Check the website and Lightning Flashes for more information. Like always, you may contact a board member with any questions, suggestions or way to volunteer and/or get more involved.
