Our mission is to ensure enduring support for recreation, social and educational programs to high-risk children in Genesee County. This includes providing equipment, instruction and facilities to allow all children a place to play without regard to financial resources or natural ability.

IMA Children's Recreation Fund
The IMA Childrens Recreation Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to provide recreational, social and educational programs to kids in Genesee County, Michigan. We are committed to provide high-quality programs in a safe and non-threatening environment and to ensure that no child be excluded from participating in a program because of financial barriers. Full or partial scholarships are readily available to help kids and families with limited resources. The IMA Childrens Recreation Fund is supported by a broad based Board of Directors that reflects the community.

Fund's Mission

Fund's History
The IMA Childrens Recreation Fund was created in 1998 as The IMA Foundation to fund recreation programs for kids, mainly through a variety of fund-raising events aimed at community involvement and participation.

In 2002, the Foundations name was changed to the IMA Childrens Recreation Fund to better reflect its focus on children and their needs.

IMA Childrens Recreation Fund Programs

  • Teach discipline and responsibility.
  • Teach teamwork & intergender relationships.
  • Improve the coordination and the general health & well being of all youngsters involved.
  • Help youngsters establish priority-setting skills and teach time management.
  • Create a desire & commitment to complete the program because the kids are having fun.
  • Provide mentoring opportunities with youngsters in need of adult supervision & care.
