• Team entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the division in which they have entered has sold-out.
• Team entries are non-refundable unless the team in question has been determined to be ineligible by the Regional Qualifiers Organizing Committee.

Age Determination Date

A player’s age on December 31, 2007 shall determine his/her respective age for the Regional Qualifiers. Female participants will be allowed to “play down” one birth year, not one age division.

Team Roster

Maximum of 15 skaters + 2 goalies

Maximum of 4 coaches and/or team managers will be allowed on the players’ bench, all of which must be currently registered (2007-08 playing season) as coaches with USA Hockey InLine.

No roster changes for Regional Qualifiers will be accepted after team check-in at the event.

Team / Participant Eligibility

Eligible teams do not have to represent USA Hockey InLine sanctioned facilities. Regardless of a rink’s affiliation, all teams qualify to compete provided the following criteria is met:

USA Hockey InLine strongly believes in a player’s commitment to a team. Commitment includes continual participation through practice, games and all team functions. One-time players or “ringers” do not meet USA Hockey InLine’s definition of a teammate. Due to this, no such player will be allowed to participate in the 2008 Regional Qualifiers.

To ensure this – all players must reside within 45 miles of the team’s designated home facility. A computer-based mapping system will be utilized by the Regional Qualifiers Committee to ensure each player’s distance to the facility (residence to be known through player registration). If a player’s residence exceeds the 45-mile radius, please contact USA Hockey InLine at (800) 888-INLN. Indisputable evidence showing the player’s commitment to the team will be required by the Regional Qualifiers Committee, and the Committee will then determine if such player is eligible. A final decision regarding the eligibility of a player(s) and/or team(s) rests with the Regional Qualifiers Committee.

All players and coaches must be registered with USA Hockey InLine for the full 2007-08 playing season ($30 player or coach). All players and coaches can register as a team prior to the event by paper registration (sent to team coach from the national office) or online (usahockeyinline.com). Teams and/or individuals failing to accomplish this prior to the event will be denied competition until registration is complete at team check-in.

In accordance with the 2007-09 Official Rules of USA Hockey InLine, players shall have the option to play in their appropriate age division, as well as to play up one age division, provided such a player’s skill level and physical maturity is of similarity to other participants in the age division. However, players (including goaltenders) may be listed on no more than one Team Roster within the same age division. No game schedule requests will be accepted for players (including goaltenders) participating on more than one Team Roster. Female participants will be allowed to “play down” one birth year, not one age division.

To be considered eligible to participate, all participants must complete all required registration forms and waivers by the pre-established deadlines, as determined by
USA Hockey InLine.

Tournament Format

All teams are guaranteed to play a minimum of three games, with the actual tournament format and schedule of games to be determined by the number of team
entries in each respective division. Within each age division, the preliminary-round pools will be created through a random selection process.

Teams will earn points through round-robin play to determine team seeding in the playoffs. Points will be awarded for the following:
Win: 2 points; Loss: 0 points; Tie: 1 point

Preliminary and playoff games will feature two 12-minute stopped time halves, as well as a 3-minute warm-up and a 1-minute halftime break. For playoff and championship games only, in the event of a tie at the end of regulation time, consecutive 12-minute sudden-death overtimes will be played until a winner is determined.

Rules Highlights

All tournament games will be played in accordance with the 2007-09 Official Rules of USA Hockey InLine. All games will be played without offsides and clearing rules. NO BODYCHECKING. The Rocket puck, the official puck of USA Hockey InLine, will be used to play all games.
