The league sanctioning process allows USA Hockey InLine to create a further understanding of the leagues which it sanctions. It provides USA Hockey InLine with a clear overall picture of the daily league operation and of the facility conditions under which games will be played. It also helps USA Hockey InLine ensure that it’s sanctioned leagues are providing the safest possible conditions for the participants. In the long run, league sanctioning will afford USA Hockey InLine and the local program the appropriate Risk Management due diligence required to keep insurance costs low and participant enjoyment high.
There are two (2) steps to the league sanction process. First, a League Sanction Agreement is completed by the League Director and submitted to the USA Hockey InLine national office with the appropriate supplemental information (facility photographs, facility rental contract copies, etc.). Ideally, this should be completed 30 days prior to the first scheduled game and/or practice. Upon receipt of the League Sanction Agreement, a representative of USA Hockey InLine will review the agreement and discuss any major safety concerns with the League Director.
The second step is to ensure that all players, coaches and referees are properly registered with USA Hockey InLine. In order to register with USA Hockey InLine all members should visit www.usahockeyregistration.com and complete the online registration process. Once they register online they will need to bring / email in the “Confirmation Page” to your league at which point you will scan / enter the confirmation number into Cyber Sport (a league membership application provided FREE of charge to all sanctioned leagues) to complete the registration process. All players, coaches and referees of a league must be properly registered with USA Hockey InLine in order for the league to be “sanctioned.”
