Highlights:

  • This year’s tournament marks the 5th anniversary of the event and will include 224 participating teams across 15 divisions, skating on 24 rinks. This is an increase of 28 teams from 2009.
  • Highlighting the championships will be special appearances made by 1980 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team members Dave Christian & Neal Broten, and 1984 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey coach, Lou Vairo. Each guest will be present at Saturday night’s function at the Snowmobile Derby Track.
  • Participants will travel to Eagle River, WI from 25 different states to participate in this event.
  • The Eagle River Fire Department has begun preparations to plow the rinks used in the tournament and will begin to groom the 12+ inches of frozen lake ice into playable surfaces in the upcoming days. Click here to see the latest pictures

Labatt Blue/USA Hockey Pond Hockey National Championships Set to Begin Friday

The fifth annual Labatt Blue/USA Hockey Pond Hockey National Championships are set for this weekend (Feb. 12-14) in Eagle River, Wis. More than 1,500 adult players from 25 different states will descend on Dollar Lake for the largest turnout in the event's history.

2010 USA Hockey Pond Hockey Championships Registration Surpasses 200 Teams

More than 200 teams from 25 states have already registered for the 2010 USA Hockey Pond Hockey Championships. The event, which will take place Feb. 12-14 in Eagle River, Wis., has increased in the number of participating teams every year since its inception in 2006, with 196 teams making the trip to Dollar Lake in 2009.
