Cunningham Named Coordinator of USA Hockey's Coaching Education Program

Matt Cunningham, who has experience coaching at the youth, high school, adult and collegiate levels, has been named coordinator of the coaching education program for USA Hockey, it was announced today.

USA Hockey to Host International Coaches Symposium

USA Hockey, as part of the 2009 International Ice Hockey Federation World Men’s Under-18 Championship, will conduct an international coaches symposium on Saturday, April 18, at the Fargo (N.D.) Southwest Arena. The event is free of charge and open to youth hockey coaches throughout North Dakota, Minnesota and the surrounding areas. Pre-registration is not required.

Mankowski banks on coaching development

Come this summer, Mike Mankowski will embark on his 20th season working for USA Hockey either as a coach in the Mid-American District, where he oversees all aspects of team selection and team building for participation at the Select Festivals, or as a coach at Select Festivals.

Gill proud to see his team compete

Give a Aaron Gill a team that brings a competitive spirit, and he’ll take his chances. The approach worked this year for Gill, who won the USHL’s Curt Hammer Award in 1999-2000 with the Rochester Mustangs as the player who distinguishes himself as the most gentlemanly player, both on and off the ice.

Dave Debol, who in February was an assistant coach for the United States Select Team that competed in the Winter World University games in China, can draw on a wealth of hockey experience when he steps behind the bench.

Augustine guides successful club team at URI

Joe Augustine, the eminently successful coach of the University of Rhode Island club hockey team, literally was able to put his feet in the skates of Team USA players he coached at the World University games this past February in Harbin, China, as well as those when he was an assistant coach for Team USA at the 2006 World University Games in Turin, Italy.
